Fiestas Patrias werden die Nationalfeiertage zum Gedenken an den Tag der Unabhängigkeitserklärung am 28. Juli 1821, durch den Befreier Jose de San Martin genannt. Den ganzen Monat Juli finden bereits Festlichkeiten statt und an allen Häusern werden auf staatliche Verordnung hin die Fahnen gehisst. Das Bild zeigt einen Aufruf dazu: "Wir respektieren dich peruanische Fahne".Auch in den Schulen und Kindergärten finden Feste zum Unabhängigkeitstag statt. Heute habe ich dann einen Einblick in die Festlichkeiten des Kindergartens "Casa Belen", in dem ich seit Anfang des Jahres nebenbei im Vorstand arbeite, bekomme. "Casa Belen" ist ein Sozialprojekt der evangelischen-deutschen Kirchengemeinde, gegründet in Breña, einem Armenviertel Limas.
In den letzten Wochen hat man sich im Kindergarten bereits intensiv auf das Fest vorbereitet. In den einzelnen Gruppen wurden die Landstriche: Costa (Küste), Selva (Regenwald) und Sierra (Gebirge) besprochen. Höhepunkt des Festes selber waren die Tänze aus den verschiedenen Regionen des Landes. Und ich habe es sehr genossen, die kleinen bunten Darbietungen, die mich mal wieder daran erinnert haben welches Glück ich habe ein anderes Land kennen zu lernen. Hier ein paar Eindrücke:
